Job Title Engagement Ambassador - Spring 2025 Department The Cortland Fund Job Description/Duties Maintain the positive connections that the university has with its alumni by being enthusiastic, positive, polite, and understanding, and being a proponent of SUNY Cortland, its history, programs, alumni, and supporters. Recruit volunteers for the Reunion Committee and other opportunities, including registering for local, regional, and virtual events. Support the Cortland College Foundation with event assistance for on and off campus events by setting up, checking in and troubleshooting, creating nametags, making confirmation calls, etc. Assist with personalized donor stewardship by sending hand-written postcards and thank you notes and submitting video messages through ThankView for SUNY Cortland donors. Assist with various office tasks in the Cortland College Foundation, including scanning, filing, shredding, preparing mailings and other duties as assigned. Create media pieces for Cortland College Foundation related events and initiatives (slideshows, programs, stewardship videos, etc.)


Days/Hours Needed Shifts are scheduled as stated below on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays when classes are in session. Shifts will be scheduled upon hiring and remain consistent for the semester. Occasional nights and weekends may vary depending on each semester.

Office Shifts: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Employees must be available for at least two office shifts per week. Campus Location/Bldg. Brockway Hall Required Qualifications Ideal candidates are confident, self-motivated, willing, and able to learn and have good attention to detail. Responsible, dependable, mature, outgoing, and optimistic individuals will do well in this position. Other requirements include:

Excellent communication skills. Ability to work independently, within a team, under direction from others and by initiative. An understanding of and appreciation for SUNY Cortland and its history. Ability to speak English clearly. Must be a SUNY Cortland student.
