About the role:

 

 As the site Energy Sustainability Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in managing sustainability processes within the brewery. This includes overseeing utilities such as water, energy, and waste, while driving our carbon emissions reduction plans. With an exciting investment heading to our Ciderie, you’ll have the chance to work on a significant capital project, contributing to meaningful, impactful changes.

 

As the specialist, you’ll act as the main mentor and expert on sustainability, working across various departments and engaging with stakeholders to embed sustainable practices into our operations. Your responsibilities will include:

Ensuring compliance with environmental standards and local legislation. Coordinating efforts to identify and reduce energy and water losses. Supporting sustainability initiatives across teams and departments. Driving sustainability KPIs and ensuring they are achieved throughout the brewery. Managing sustainability data to meet quality standards. Engaging with external service providers and managing contracts. Implementing techniques like Visual Management and Poka- yoke to enhance efficiency.

For graduates, this is an excellent opportunity to apply your academic knowledge, gain hands-on experience, and develop your skills on significant projects. A degree in chemical engineering, environmental science, or a related field is ideal, and any relevant internships, placements, or university projects will be highly valued.

 

For industry professionals, your background in sustainability, utilities management, or related disciplines will enable you to hit the ground running.  Your expertise will help us achieve ambitious targets while providing opportunities to innovate and make your mark.

 

Key attributes we’re looking for include:

 

A strong interest in sustainability and its practical applications. Exposure to relevant fields through internships & placements or prior experience in utilities management, process control and similar roles. Knowledge of energy monitoring and reporting systems (e.g., Montage or similar). Excellent communication skills to influence and engage teams effectively. A collaborative mindset with the ability to coach and support others. A proactive approach to tackling challenges and driving results.
