Employer Relations Specialist (Temporary position)

Job Description

SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director for Career Development and Success in the College for Education and Engaged Learning (CEEL), the Temporary Employer Relations Specialist will focus on developing new external employer partners and internship offerings for students in CEEL, and increasing employer involvement in CEEL recruitment initiatives. The Temporary Employer Relations Specialist will serve as the primary contact for employer inquiries and technical support. The Temporary Employer Relations Specialist will assist with advising students, individually and through group presentations, on topics such as resume writing, job search strategies, and professional networking as needed.

This is part time temporary position, 30 hours per week, for an estimated 50 weeks.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops relationships with new employer partners and manages existing employer relationships.

Develops new and innovative internship opportunities specific to CEEL academic programs.

Serves as the main contact for employer partners with regard to recruiting initiatives.

Manages the job approval process for CEEL in Handshake and serves as the main point of contact for employer questions and technical troubleshooting.

Supports the planning, execution, and evaluation of signature recruitment events.

Oversees the marketing and promotion of relevant employment opportunities and recruiting events to students and alumni.

Delivers career development workshops to prepare students for successful networking with employer partners.

Assists with career advising, resume reviews, and interview preparation as needed.

Collaborates with career services and CEEL colleagues to ensure consistency of services.

Collects, organizes, and tracks employer relations metrics.

Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree.

Two years of full-time professional experience working in higher education, recruiting, or a field related to workforce development.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.

Demonstrated ability to build and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse working environment.

PREFERRED:

Familiarity with hiring trends in the education sector, particularly in New Jersey.

Experience working on career services initiatives such as on-campus recruitment events, career advising, and career-related programming.

Facility with technologies related to career services and student support.

Experience developing and delivering professional development presentations to diverse audiences.

Experience planning and executing events
