Job Summary: Assist the Rec Center Manager and Assistant Manager in the day-to-day operation of the Recreation Center in the areas of programming, facility maintenance, excellent guest service and recreational opportunities to the community. The Details: Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Pay: $16.05 per hour Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays) Why Grand Canyon South Rim? Responsibilities Assume responsibility for the Community Recreation Center in the absence of the Manager (CRCM) and/or Assistant Manager (AM). Participate in the development of existing and new trips, to include researching, planning, advertising and ensuring trip safety for all participants. Assist CRCM and AM with facility cleaning are ensure standards are maintained by reviewing cleaning checklists each shift, performing a daily walkthrough and perform maintenance and custodial duties including but not limited to lifting, sweeping, disposing of waste, vacuuming and washing windows, etc. Adhere to all safety and risk management policies, including wearing required personal protective equipment while performing tasks. Assist the CRCM and AM to maintain Community Recreation Center Policies and Procedures including safety, risk management and sustainability policies and procedures. Assist the CRCM and AM to prepare bi-weekly deposits when needed. Maintain weekly inventory and assist in managing vendor relationships. Operate Front Desk and POS register according to Recreation Center standard operating procedures. Assist in re-enforcing Recreation Center policies to community members as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership qualities preferred. Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card within first 2 weeks in the position. Knowledge of weight and fitness equipment use, and repair Ability to acquire CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire. Ability to acquire Food handling certification within 30 days of Experience with cash handling and the ability to acquire Cash Handling certification within 30 days of hire. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License within 30 days of hire and comply with the company Driver Safety Program. Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi- Strong computer skills in Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, as well as social media platforms. Excellent written, verbal and problem-solving skills as well as strong interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with a diverse community.
