“The McMinnville Business Recovery and Resiliency Plan (“Plan”) is a State American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”) funded project secured by Rep. Ron Noble (HD-24) in the 2021 Oregon Legislative Session. The Plan addresses the ongoing issues related to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the Plan supports the community’s MacTown 2032 strategic plan goal of Economic Prosperity. This Plan is intended to have enduring value.”

Position Summary:

Are you a proactive and organized individual passionate about making a difference in healthcare emergency management? Join our dynamic team at Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville, Oregon, as a Hospital Emergency Preparedness Intern and gain hands-on experience in ensuring our community's safety during crises!

In this exciting on-site role, you will work closely with our Emergency Management Coordinator, to enhance our hospital's readiness for potential emergencies. This internship is perfect for individuals aged 18-25 with strong ties to the McMinnville community who are eager to contribute to the well-being of our local healthcare system.

Minimum Qualifications:

Between ages 18-25Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards. 

Essential Job Functional:

Emergency Plan Enhancement: Review and update existing emergency plans, procedures, and protocols to identify areas for improvement.Drill Participation: Actively engage in emergency drills and exercises, taking on crucial roles during simulated scenarios.Resource Management: Maintain accurate inventories of critical supplies and equipment, ensuring our hospital is well-prepared for any situation.Community Outreach: Represent Willamette Valley Medical Center at community preparedness events, educating the public about emergency readiness and fostering strong relationships with local stakeholders.Documentation and Reporting: Assist in documenting incidents, response actions, and lessons learned, preparing comprehensive reports for internal use and regulatory compliance.Training Facilitation: Co-facilitate training sessions for hospital staff, sharing your knowledge of emergency protocols and best practices.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent organizational and communication skillsProactive mindset and ability to work well under pressureProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferredAbility to work collaboratively with diverse teamsPassion for healthcare emergency management and community preparedness
