Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Overview Good Samaritan University Hospital is looking for passionate Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to join our dedicated team. Good Samaritan is the first verified Level I Adult Trauma Center and the only Verified Level II Pediatric Trauma Center on the south shore of Long Island named by the American College of Surgeons, providing 24-hour coverage by pediatric and trauma surgeons and specialists. The collective years of experience within the walls of our Emergency Department create an environment of innovation, collaboration and teamwork. This role will work within the emergency department as necessary performing a variety of patient care roles as required, and within the field providing event standby emergency pre-hospital care including patient assessment, administration of basic medical treatments, documentation, and proper hand-off to transporting agencies while ensuring patient safety and well-being. Job Details Responsibilities: Respond promptly to emergency calls and provide immediate medical care in various environments. Evaluate patient conditions by taking vital signs, conducting basic medical examinations, and determining the appropriate course of action. Administer first aid, CPR, oxygen therapy, wound care, bleeding control, splinting, and other basic life support (BLS) interventions. Relay critical patient information to paramedics, hospital staff, and emergency dispatchers. Ensure medical equipment, supplies, and ambulances are clean, stocked, and in working order. Accurately complete patient care reports and maintain records in compliance with regulations. Assist in educating the community on emergency response and first aid as needed. Requirements: Current EMT certification in good standing in the state of New York. Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. National Incident Management Service (NIMS) 100, 700 and 800 course completion certification. High School diploma or equivalent 1+ years of EMT experience preferred.
