Emergency Medical Technician - Adult Emergency Department (Falls Church)

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician to join Level 1 Trauma Center.  This role will be full time mid shift, Monday – Friday with rotating weekends (10am/11am/3pm)

Emergency Medical Technician 2 Job Responsibilities: 

Documents all required fields in medical records, computer entries and charges. Applies orthopedic splinting devices. Collects patient specimens following department/facility policies and procedures. Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies to optimize delivery of patient care and treatment. Assists with patient transport for testing, admission/discharge, interfacility and aeromedical (per policy of Operating Unit). Performs 12 lead ECG and places patients on continuous cardiac monitoring. Performs patient phlebotomy following department/facility policies and procedures. Provides wound care according to department clinical practice standards and acts as a resource to physicians and nurses to assist with optimum care. May perform additional duties as assigned.

Emergency Medical Technician 2 Requirements: 

 Experience: 1 year of EMT-B experience Education: High School Diploma or GED Certification: BLS and EMT-B; must either be active on the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) or possess a current Virginia EMT License/Certification Training: Candidate must be able to attend six week training orientation upon hire. Special Skills: Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Computer skills.
