Job summary – What to expect: 

We have an amazing opportunity for a EMEA Financial Accounting Manager to join our team at CooperSurigical(CSI). This is a key management position reporting to the EMEA Accounting Director and will be responsible for overseeing Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Accounts Receivable for CooperSurgical’s commercial entities within the Shared Service Centre as well as providing a strong reporting relationship with the individual in-market Finance Team for Turkey. 

As the EMEA Financial Accounting Manager, you will work alongside the commercial management and the FP&A function ensuring they receive the support required to drive business success. 

This role involves supporting the Accounting Director in driving strategic change alongside improving processes, policies, and efficiency on a path toward greater alignment of accounting and control processes under the Shared Services model. Technical accounting escalations and general accounting support for the commercial management and FP&A will be delivered from this role, fostering a close working relationship with them. 

In addition, you will: 

Drive an efficient and timely Financial Reporting close process for the commercial entities in EMEA. Ensure the financial reporting of the P&L and Balance Sheet are in alignment with US GAAP, the internal controls framework and corporate policies. Drive support to the FP&A function in building out legal entity budgets and forecasts for the commercial entities and provide relevant data for the preparation of cashflow forecasts. Leading a team of 3 direct professional staff, while having a dotted line to the in-market Finance Team for Turkey, representing their first line of support for technical reporting, accounting, and policy issues.  Active working relationship with the CVI Transactional Services Manager and CVI Fixed Asset and Leasing Finance team to collaborate and ensure the seamless performance of activities carried out for CSI. Support to the Accounting Director with a continuous improvement mindset to challenge current processes with a view to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end processes. Support for the new ERP systems development across different markets, and Implementation of MS D365 for supported markets with a focus on Record-To-Report management process.

About you:

Experience: 

Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) with a background in Shared Services, Financial Accounting and Reporting in a commercial environment, and a solid understanding of Internal Controls. Ability to operate on a tactical level with a good understanding of strategy, balancing today’s needs of the organization with the longer-term direction and enhancements of a global organization. Demonstrated ability to positively influence and work collaboratively with all key business stakeholders (internal & external), including Commercial and Finance Leadership teams to achieve improved business outcomes. Previous experience in managing a financial accounting and reporting team. Broad knowledge of all finance areas including financial systems and applications Strong knowledge and application of US GAAP, particularly in Revenue Recognition. Experience gained in a Global/US matrix managed business is highly desirable. Ability to facilitate forums and workshops to achieve required outcomes.
