Elko - Logistics and Transportation Specialist

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Logistics and Transportation Specialist with our Supply Chain department.

Responsibilities:

Communicate regularly with all team members to ensure they are informed on operations, activities, developments, and changes.  Actively monitor site levels of all bulk commodities. Work closely with internal stakeholders on forecasted commodity needs. Communicate commodity forecasts with carriers and suppliers. Communicate daily delivery plans and delays with internal stakeholders. Track bulk commodity consumptions and report out. Compile data into forecast accuracy reports. Maintain logistics dashboards. Oversee maintenance and functionality of site truck scales. Oversee maintenance and functionality of site telemetry systems. Assist with carrier onboarding. Track KPIs and levels of service. Perform Scale database audits and validate invoices. Attend and facilitate carrier safety meetings. Assist with planning functions of the logistics department, including scheduling and invoicing. Acquire services, obtaining the best total cost of ownership, term of execution, and quality conditions.  Keep detailed, organized records of deliveries and inventories. Analyze data and suggest modifications and improvements accordingly. Adhere to all safety standards, regulations, laws, and policies. Support the continuous improvement and execution of Barrick’s sourcing strategy, policies, and guidelines for service categories and contracts; is a participant in the development of value-added service for SCM customers, cost savings, and other performance metrics. Demonstrate social awareness, commitment, and compliance with Barrick’s Social Responsibility Policy, always showing a socially responsible behavior with the Community and with the Company Perform other duties as assigned by Logistics Manager

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or equivalent is required. 3 or more years of related experience in Mining and /or Practical experience in Logistics and Transport operations, Warehousing/ Inventory management preferred. Ability to engage, motivate, and develop business partners to meet objectives required. Strong communication skills required. Ability to influence and work with a diverse range of people effectively required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required. Excellent time management and prioritization skills required. Ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner while maintaining high quality and safety standards.  Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.  Knowledge of SAP, or equivalent enterprise level software packages is necessary.   Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
