Job Summary
The Electrophysiology Technician (EP Tech) supports electrophysiology and cardiac procedures, providing technical expertise and assistance to the Electrophysiologist and Cardiology team. This role includes preparation, monitoring, and patient care during procedures, as well as operating and troubleshooting specialized equipment. The EP Tech ensures patient safety, equipment readiness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Functions
Qualifications
Technical School certification from an accredited program in Health Science, Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field required or Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, Nursing, or related field required 0-2 years of experience in an electrophysiology or cardiac catheterization lab requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficient in electrophysiology procedures, hemodynamic monitoring, and ACLS protocols. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiation safety protocols. Ability to effectively operate and troubleshoot electrophysiology equipment. Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Licenses and Certifications
BCLS - Basic Life Support required and ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist preferred or RCVT - Registered Cardiovasc Technologist preferred
