ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN
Summary You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the NAVSUP SYSTEMS SUPPORT BRANCH, DOD SYSTEMS ENGINEERING and MANAGEMENT DIVISION of NMC ORD SYS ENG MGMT. Responsibilities You will diagnose equipment malfunction using system analysis, test equipment, and schematics while evaluating, modifying, replacing components and analyzing their operation. You will perform final technical operations and verify system, equipment, or component is performing within designated certification parameters. You will operate and analyze equipment/systems to diagnose and isolate discrepancies which cannot be located and corrected through established procedures You will compile records of system/equipment failures, action taken, cost, and make recommendations to optimize system/equipment operations and suggest effective cost saving innovations. You will design, build testing products, and conduct research for replacement or improvement of circuits/system design. You will assist higher graded technicians in the diagnosis, resolution, and repair of specific maintenance/equipment problems for one or more complex engineering studies in support of new electronic equipment/systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience must include at least 24 months experience, education or training in installing, testing, supporting complex electronics equipment, solving technical problems, and reviewing instructions for the repair, modification and maintenance equipment and related test-set equipment. Experience analyzing engineering literature, procedures, and technical drawings while making sound decisions using basic engineering principles. Experience demonstrating the capacity to comprehend and apply measurement practices while working independently as well as the ability to show linear progression in dealing with problems. Experience must include knowledge of electronic equipment design, development, evaluation, testing, installation, and maintenance. Experience completing testing, evaluating data, and determining acceptability of equipment modifications, validity, test procedures and data, or legality of operation. Experience analyzing and diagnosing faults in the operational configuration of electronic systems and equipment. Experience interpreting circuit wiring, logic cable diagrams, drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete systems and equipment to understand the function and interconnections of the various assemblies and troubleshoot the system.
