Electronics Engineer Specialist

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Electronics Engineer Specialist.  This role is located at our facility in Moon Township, PA and offers a hybrid working schedule. Relocation assistance is also available! 

 

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

Our Electronics Engineer Specialist will create unique product solutions using a combination of analog and digital electronic circuit designs in support of our innovation product development programs. This role is linked to Eaton’s digitalization strategy and includes development of schematics and PCBA electronics hardware design, component selection, integration of power electronics, firmware, documentation and product testing for applications and features in power management, communication (wireless and wired), intelligent data generation, remote control, diagnostics, IoT functionality, plus other areas. 

What you’ll do: Lead electronic hardware development for smart, connected circuit protection devices supporting all project phases from requirements definition thru sustaining phases plus related project management tasks Lead the design of analog and digital circuits, including power electronics, power supplies, signal conditioning, and microprocessor support circuits using Eaton platform standards guidelines, industry best practices, regulatory agency compliance requirements and Design for Manufacturability input. Creates electronic schematics, PCBA layouts, PCB designs, BOMs, selects components to fit the project requirements and conducts design reviews. Participate as a core global member of project teams assigned to research, design, develop, test and/or launch new innovationsStay abreast of market trends and emerging technologies globally, with a particular emphasis on embedded and IoT cloud-connected systems, electronic hardware security and evaluates their potential impact on Eaton business.Serve as the technical bridge between electronics design and internal/external suppliers, assist with defining and qualification of electronic hardware test systemsDrive enhancement of existing products and services based on evaluations of existing and new technologies per Eaton’s strategic plansRepresent Eaton’s interests on councils and committees tasked with developing codes and standards for emerging technologies in which Eaton is investingPerform technical evaluations of electrical components and assess opportunities to develop partnerships and/or new suppliersLead product certification activities acting as the Eaton representative and prepares project technical packagesBe a technical advisor to product line managers and/or manufacturing engineers throughout the product development process and coordinates electronic hardware prototypes, testing. Provides solutions and technical support to customers and sales team.Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronic engineering/technology from an accredited institutionFive (5) years of experience in electrical/electronic design engineering Experience with PCB layout and design Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Seven (7) years of experience in similar positions for electronic circuit design, PCBA hardware development and firmware integration into cloud-connected IoT systemsExperience in product validation (shock and vibration, cycle testing, or environmental testing)Experience in simulation modeling tools such as SPICE or MATLABExperience using agile/scrum/sprint hardware product development methodologies and as part of a globally distributed team of internal/ external developers and suppliersComputer knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with PADS, Altium and CAD design toolsExperience in electronic hardware design for cybersecurity compliance
