The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) team is seeking an engineer to support the WAAS system Implementation team.  WAAS is a satellite navigation aid developed by the FAA to augment the Global Positioning System (GPS), with the goal of improving its accuracy, integrity, and availability.  The position supports the WAAS field network through systems engineering and implementation of software and hardware modifications.

 

Responsibilities:

WAAS field network management and support. Research, design, development, testing, evaluation, and maintenance of computer hardware and software systems in an integrated manner. Conducts field network system reviews, audits, and testing. Technical Instruction book development and maintenance. Property/Inventory management. Responsible for creating and updating interconnect diagrams and drawings using AutoCAD. Development of System Support Modification documentation. Adheres to configuration management (CM) requirements, and performs changes as required.
