Provide the University Community with appropriate equipment recommendations, and manage all aspects of a client’s project pertaining to the installation of technology. This position will also act as the liaison between the university and the subcontractor for audio services at the Dayton campus to include but not limited to the Nutter Center. Additionally, this position will assist Event Services AV team when needed. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and minimum 6 years’ experience in AV support role; A combination of education and extensive experience may be considered Extron AV Associates Certification Ability to read and understand construction drawings (architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems) / and related documentation. Experience in managing multiple projects in various phases of construction/deployment. Knowledge of Extron or Crestron control systems. Must be familiar with set-up and configuration of Cisco video systems. Ability to work independently, as a productive team member and show self-initiative. Demonstrated skills in good customer service, customer relations, and multitasking. Knowledge of emerging technologies in the audio/video field. Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent problem-solving skills necessary. Knowledge of IT service management best practices. Preferred Qualifications Extron Control Systems Certification Knowledge of Global Configurator Pro and GUI Designer Pro

Essential Functions and percent of time: AV Systems Design and Engineering
50% Design state of the art instructional technology systems for classrooms, conference rooms, labs, auditoriums, and any other spaces as requested. Provide demonstrations of potential system solutions for clients. Provide equipment and technology research and coordination with vendors. Selection and qualification of equipment and software required for custom integration solutions. Work with Center for Teaching and Learning in developing new instructional technologies to enhance the faculty’s pedagogical methods. Manage the installations, maintenance, and repair of all systems. Analyze system failures and provide an appropriate and timely solution. Provide systems training and support to first and second tier Client Services personnel along with end users. Develop and maintain systems, replacement and upgrade strategies.

Design
20% Define functional requirements for control systems. Program networked control systems, including the design of user-friendly interfaces. Maintain the latest software and firmware for all networked systems. Program automation controllers, multi-point conferencing units, gateways, and gatekeepers to ensure the proper interactive audio and video transmission signals are delivered to the appropriate endpoints. Assign and track all static I.P. addresses for networked systems. Serve as a resource expert to the University community, and consult with clients to determine equipment needs, and provide cost estimates for purchase. Maintain a current awareness of the latest technological developments in audio, video, control systems, and conferencing systems, through participation in professional workshops and seminars.

Event Services Support 20% Be a liaison between the Nutter Center and subcontractor audio services for the arena. Assist and support, when necessary, event backup for the Student Union and Event Services. Provide phone support and services for equipment ordering for SUES. Maintain and repair, if needed, equipment in the Student Union conferencing wing and other conference spaces in the Student Union. Serve as a resource with regard to the campus areas pertaining to AV systems and equipment use.

Design and Construction Management 10% Review blueprints and building plans in order to provide solutions to Planning, Engineering, and Construction, as well as, external contractors, architects, and engineers. Provide continuous engineering support throughout the project, from inception through implementation. Create designs that meet customer functional and budgetary requirements. Develop project budgets for instructional Technologies. Compile materials list used to create bid packages and award bids to the appropriate vendors. Essential Functions and percent of time (cont'd): Non-Essential Functions and percent of time: Working Conditions Involves climbing ladders, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds. May be required to enter spaces with bio-chemical hazard precautions. Occasionally involves extensive walking, with or without pushing utility carts.
