Description
We are looking to identify a number of Electromechanical Technicians to hire in support of a manufacturing client in the Portland area. These people will primarily be working within a repair department, evaluating products returned from customers for any necessary repairs and/or refurbishments needed. They'll tear down the devices according to detailed component maintenance manuals and use additional engineering work instructions and blueprints during the evaluation process. They'll use these same resources during the reassembly and repair process.
Responsibilities:
Visually inspecting, disassembling, evaluating, and reassembling. Components evaluated include stators, rotors, bearings, diodes, shafts, etc. Faulty components, if not repair, are instead replaced, so will need to request replacement parts from inventory. Repair/rework is not performed until the customer signs off/approves the repair/rework, once reviewing the written evaluations completed by this technician. Working from component maintenance manuals which detail the type of testing and evaluation required for the specific part as well as supplemental instructions and OEM blueprints. Component Maintenance Manuals are the main source of information and are very sequential – it’s critical that the details in here be followed. Standard electrical assembly, soldering, crimping, small wires and parts to go together to make a large 10-40lb part. Tools regularly used: standard hand tools, screwdrivers, calipers, torque tools, parts washers, hydraulic/arbor presses, mills, and/or balancing machines.Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience as an Electromechanical Technician in a manufacturing and/or industrial product repair environment, performing troubleshooting and repair on industrial products such as power generators, convertors, sensors, or similarMechanical skills in troubleshooting and repair, using common hand toolsElectrical/electronic skills within assembly, soldering, wiringMUST have very good written communication skills for writing up the evaluations that are sent to a customer; previous experience writing work instructions, engineering documentation, or similar, is a mustStrong critical thinking and evaluation/troubleshooting skills, confirmed by professional referencesSteady hand, fine craftsmanship, attention to detail, willing to adapt and learn and follow documented instructionsAligned Profiles:
Electromechanical Technician in manufacturing and/or industrial product repairAutomotive Technician with electromechanical skillsA&P Technician with powerplant repair, overhaul, maintenance experienceWind Turbine or power generation equipment TechnicianHighly skilled, tenured mechanical assemblers with complex parts or full unit assembliesInterested, qualified and local talent to the Portland, OR area are encouraged to apply with tailored resume showcasing necessary skills. The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
