The Electrician - Mechanic III must be experienced and competent with the PM, inspection, installation, troubleshooting and repair of all types of facilities equipment including but not limited to mechanical, electrical distribution systems, generator and battery supplied emergency power and distribution systems, isolated power systems, grounding , surge suppression, lightening arrestor systems, fire alarm and security systems. The position requires an understanding of HVAC equipment and controls; including pneumatics and electrical control devices. The mechanic must be well versed in safety precautions required in the electrical and mechanical trades. He must have a working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, DFS, and JCAHO standards and the NC building codes. He shall be proficient in the application of such codes and regulations. Mech. III personnel are frequently used to train other staff, plan and coordinate projects, and serve on various committees and emergency teams as required. They may be asked to monitor and inspect the work of outside contractors. They stand call duty on a rotating basis. Working hours are as designated by the maintenance director.
