Job Summary: The Mammoth Hot Springs Electrician is a full-time, year-round position and is based out of Mammoth Hot Springs. This position is responsible for overseeing the proper operation, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical systems in the Mammoth Hot Springs, Roosevelt Lodge and Gardiner areas of the Park. Discounts in and around Yellowstone Over 1,000 miles of hiking trails inside the park itself Fresh air, breathtaking views, and clear night skies World-class wildlife viewing of bison, elk, moose, wolves, bears, and more Approximately 500 geysers (the largest concentration in the world) and hot springs, including Grand Prismatic, the third largest in the world Responsibilities Oversees the proper operation, testing, maintenance and repair of electrical systems for assigned areas of the Park Ensures all electrical installations, repairs and replacements accomplished by Xanterra staff or contractors meet the applicable electrical code Accountable for proper and accurate documentation, in the Computerized Maintenance Management System, of labor & materials expended in the performance of electrical maintenance Provides assistance and oversight for the seasonal opening/closing of all facilities Assists in the development and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance procedures for electrical equipment and systems Provides electrical safety training for all location maintenance personnel Provides electrical troubleshooting and repair training for designated location personnel Coordinates with the Mammoth Hot Springs maintenance storekeeper and the maintenance purchasing manager to ensure appropriate inventory levels of electrical parts and supplies are established and maintained Ensures the accuracy of electrical asset data residing in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Advises the Location Maintenance Manager on the prioritizing of electrical capital improvement projects within the Mammoth Hot Springs area Reviews design and construction drawings to ensure code compliance, maintainability, and cost effectiveness of proposed electrical installations Qualifications A valid Journeyman, Master Electrician or Electrical Contractor license is a requirement for this position Must be able to troubleshoot problems, ask the right questions and have the confidence to make decisions based on the best information available Must be knowledgeable of and have experience conforming to OSHA safety requirements Must possess personal computer skills and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in Company and Department- specific software tools Must be self-motived and able to reliably work independently Expertise in the interpretation and practical application of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) standards Must possess knowledge of materials, tools and equipment common to the trade, the use of electrical test equipment and the ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and components Must be at least 21 years old and possess a current, valid, driver’s license with a safe driving record during the past 3 years Physical Requirements include: This position may require the use of respiratory protection and will require compliance with applicable regulations Must be able to walk over uneven terrain and climb stairs and ladders in all types of weather conditions Must be capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.Standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, for extended periods of time are required Standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, for extended periods of time We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
