GENERAL OVERVIEW

Installs, maintains and repairs the electrical power distribution systems, control devices and equipment used throughout the hospital; delivers continuous quality patient care through maintaining the equipment's reliability, quality and safety.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Install and repair the electrical power distribution system, equipment and controls, including some specialized Clinical Equipment and the emergency power supply system. (25%)Perform the electrical testing of all emergency equipment in compliance with JCAHO standards. (25%)Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections and repairs to electrical equipment to ensure reliable and efficient operation. (25%)Apply knowledge of hospital safety regulations and procedure, as well as, electrical, fire, and governmental OSHA Codes to install electrical devices which will ensure personal, staff and patient safety. (10%)Apply knowledge of specialized test equipment, such as, meters, volt-ohm meters, load banks, am probes, current leakage and phase testers to diagnose, test and repair electrical equipment. (10%)Interpret drawings, specifications and electrical schematics to select and install a wide variety of electrical hardware. (5%)


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

Technical/Trade School Diploma required.Three (3) years experience as an electrician required.Ability to understand electrical drawings, including equipment layouts, wiring diagrams, control schematics and power distribution systems required.

Preferred

Registered Electrician License preferred.Experience in a hospital environment preferred.
