Job Description Summary
The Electrician position is responsible for completing the high, medium, and low voltage electrical tasks associated with the maintenance activities in his/her area. The successful candidate should be a problem solver experienced in plant electrical distribution systems and the equipment used in these systems. He/she should possess the ability to assist in preventive and predictive maintenance procedures, troubleshoot equipment failures, complete production machine set-ups and change-overs, and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Diagnose plant equipment problems.
Perform preventive maintenance procedures.
Routine repairs to electrical equipment in accordance with all plant work instructions and safety procedures.
Perform safety observations as needed.
Maintain equipment in area of responsibility.
Perform inspections of electrical equipment.
Troubleshoot electrical failures using multi-meters, megger equipment, etc.
Bend and install conduit
Measure and inspect using calibrated test equipment.
New wiring installations of starters and start/stop stations.
Routine installations of motors, VFDs, lights, and switches.
Routine installations of control wiring.
Ability to read blueprints.
Troubleshooting and minor programming of PLCs
Grounding and bonding of AOD Pumps and lined pipe installations.
Breaker preventative maintenance and new installations
Recognize electrical area classifications.
Disposal of fluorescent bulbs, spent batteries, and PC containing ballasts properly.
Pre-task analyses for his/her maintenance activities.
Other duties as assigned.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time while working.
For certain positions, individuals must be able to wear a respirator.
Individuals will be subject to extensive security background check, educational, employment and post-offer physical exam and drug test.
Extensive training will be required in order to meet all regulatory, safety and security requirements.
Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
Must be willing to work a rotating shift schedule including nights and weekends.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Certified Electrician or an Associates degree in Applied Science from a technical school with an emphasis on Electrical Theory and Industrial Applications of Electricity preferred. Equivalent relevant years of experience in these fields of study will also be considered.
Experience: Minimum of one to three years’ experience (five to seven years’ experience preferred) experience as a Maintenance Electrician in a manufacturing facility; experience in an FDA controlled industry is preferred.
Experience with electrical equipment repair is essential.
Skills/Competencies:
Knowledge of multi-meters, Megger Equipment, E-Max Motor Testers, and PLCs is preferred.
Familiarity with and full adherence to cGMP, OSHA, FED regulations required.
The position pays $39.28 per hour.
