More complex mechanical repairs/troubleshooting/preventative maintenance to all plant equipment and systems not to exclude: pumps, valves, agitators, fans, bearings, couplings, belt drives, mechanical seals, hoists, hydraulics, pneumatics, on-off actuators, diaphragms, filters, fasteners, and any other special utility equipment
Locate spare parts as necessary
Document all work on work orders
Be familiar with the location and basic function of all plant equipment
Provide backup shift coverage to utility operators
Be able to support the plant operations during off-hours if needed
Support cGMP standards as required
Adhere to all safety requirements and follow safe procedures, immediately notifying management or Safety when unsafe conditions or potential hazards are found; attend all required safety and health training, including handling hazardous waste, when necessary
Required Skills/Education:
HS and 8+ years of industrial/mechanical experience or equivalent
The position requires essential physical abilities, including but not limited to climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, as well as repetitive motions.
The individual in this role may be required to perform work categorized as either “heavy work” or “very heavy work.” Heavy work involves exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Very heavy work entails exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, over 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The individual in this role may work nights, and weekends, or be on call (as necessary) as a regular part of this job
The individual in this position should have the visual acuity required to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving minor defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
