Electrical Systems Engineer - Secret Clearance

A week in the life of an Electrical Systems Engineer:

Review new and updated sonar system design specifications and technical descriptions to determine impact on data supplied by the sonar system to the SDRS.   Collaborate with onsite sonar system design personnel and SDRS design personnel.   Develop periodic updates to the Interface Requirements Specification (IRS). Perform testing of interfaces between the sonar system and the SDRS Ensure that changes to the sonar system or the SDRS did not degrade existing interface functionality and that any new SDRS and SDRS related sonar system functions are performing as designed.   Perform interface compatibility testing, primarily in a laboratory environment. Generate Incident Reports (IRs) for any test results that do not meet IRS requirements. Monitor the status of any resulting fixes and retest as required. Provide feedback on any needed upgrades to the PVT software. Attend weekly sonar system program status review and test group coordination meetings Submit reports that identify any meeting items which impact SDRS operation or maintenance. Monitor sonar system development/test schedules and develop SDRS related test schedules as required. Coordinate and delegate technician level tasks to other AMERICAN SYSTEMS Engineering on-site employees. Perform signal path analysis of the sonar sensors/systems which interface with the SDRS.
