Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Architect to lead the end-to-end electrical architecture for satellite power and communication systems. This role ensures scalability, maintainability, reliability, and performance. You will be responsible for establishing system-level electrical requirements and collaborating with architects from other disciplines to guide the spacecraft design.
ResponsibilitiesOwn the end-to-end electrical architecture for satellite power and communication systems.Establish system-level electrical requirements, including interface management, clocking architectures, and power and electrical budgets.Collaborate with other discipline architects to inform, align, and guide spacecraft design.Serve as a subject matter expert and lead evaluations of COTS and other system and subsystem level components.Ensure the quality of system, subsystem, and unit-level designs within electrical systems.Provide technical guidance to electrical designers and engineers.Lead or support project team sizing and resource planning efforts.Represent Electrical Engineering during internal and external design reviews.Assist in establishing and modifying internal electrical design processes and procedures.Maintain comprehensive architecture documentation and design rationale.Stay informed on emerging trends, industry standards, and best practices in space electrical architecture.Essential Skills10+ years of Electrical Hardware/Systems Design experience.3+ years of Architecture Experience.Experience in electrical power engineering, avionics systems, and requirements analysis.Proficiency in mixed signal design, high-speed, power systems, space systems, Altium, FPGA, schematic, and layout design.Strong communication skills and ability to create professional design standards and thorough design documentation.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field.Experience leading complex technical projects from start to finish.Experience with designing electrical hardware for the space environment.Strong understanding of designing rad-hard electrical systems for spaceflight.Experience with resource forecasting and assisting with program bidding.Usage of AI-tools.Work Environment
The role offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring three days a week in the office with some flexibility based on the design schedule. The team comprises approximately 150 members, with about 10 people in the electrical team. The standard work hours are eight hours a day, with a flexible start time between 9:00 am and 10:00 am.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
