Electrical Specialist
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently performs in a technical role focusing on assessments, scheduled preventative maintenance (PMs) and unscheduled maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, repairs and modifications to electrical equipment and processes as assigned. Certified to operate mobile equipment and perform rigging. Incumbent provides technical electrical skills for daily operations, checkout/startup for electrical and instrumentation equipment within the operating facility while sharing knowledge with and training junior mechanics. This includes site areas of production, utilities, laboratories and facilities. Role is to become familiar with site electrical infrastructure, maintain records thereof, consistently determine cause(s) of electrical equipment/instrumentation malfunctions, perform repair(s) and correct malfunction(s).
The primary responsibilities of this role, Electrical Specialist, are to:
Support site infrastructure and capital projects including construction/commissioning;Continuously maintain electrical systems with the objective to improve system reliability, performance, and efficiency;Perform electrical infrastructure assessments and electrical equipment repairs;Provide input and assistance developing and revising maintenance SOPs and JSAs;Must demonstrate ability to understand and use the following: VOM (Volt Ohm Meter), Megger, Ammeter, low and medium voltage AC and DC electrical systems, generators, batteries, UPS systems, solar installations, inverters, and battery chargers, electronic variable speed drives, bonding and grounding;Troubleshooting and repair of: Shop Instrumentation, Analytical Instruments, Power Distribution, Utility Systems, Packaging and Robotic Equipment, HVAC and Building Automation Systems;Maintain records of repair and maintenance of electrical equipment to meet OSHA and company standards and guidelines;Actively participates in ESH safety programs along with being able to actively identify and resolve hazards across the site while observing all company work and safety practices;Position entails driving a company vehicle (pooled or assigned to the individual). This may include being required to drive greater than 8,500 business miles annually in a personal, pooled, or rented vehicle OR being expected to frequently drive a pooled car as part of your job duties – regardless of mileage.

Required Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED;Must have valid Hawaii Electrician License;Minimum 5 years of experience in Industrial and/or Electrical maintenance to include a minimum of 3 years of experience in at least two of the following areas: Industrial Instrumentation or Industrial Electrical;Installation, maintenance, and/or calibration of analyzer systems;Distributed Controls Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controller (PLC);Valid driver’s license; Driving record (MVR) will be reviewed and must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers;Ability to lift, push, pull up to 60 pounds, work in and outdoors, and walk on uneven surfaces;Excellent problem-solving skills;Strong written and oral communication skills;Knowledge of safe tool use and shop practices;Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team with a variety of partners;Experience with the operation of lifting and rigging equipment;Knowledge of electrical safety standards and codes including local, state, and federal requirements;Proficiency in CMMS/EAM software programs to facilitate maintenance record keeping, e.g. SAP, Maintenance Connection or any related system;Ability to work Mon - Fri 07:00 AM - 3:30 PM Hawaiian Standard Time;Must have flexibility to work weekends and over-time periodically.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to provide technical training in Industrial Instrumentation or Industrial Electrical Maintenance as needed for other team members.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary $80,663.20 of to $120,994.80. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
