ENERCON is seeking a leader to join our team supporting nuclear design across the industry. With a focus on leadership of technical electrical engineering teams, this position promises professional growth and the chance to make a meaningful impact within the highly desirable and growing energy sector. This position can be based in Kennesaw, GA, Baton Rouge, LA, Naperville, IL, Chattanooga, TN, Fort Worth, TX, Overland Park, Birmingham, King of Prussia, Palm Beach Gardens and other office locations. 

 

The electrical technical team provides support of projects across the Nuclear Services Group including technical evaluations to support minor and major modifications of low and medium voltage AC systems including main generator systems, electrical protection systems, control systems, power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, panels, motors, and DC distribution systems including batteries, inverters, and chargers.

Responsibilities Serve as the focal point for initial unit contact to Management, Project Managers (PMs), and other internal constituentsDirect/assign work to the unit to balance activities between work groups and individualsMaintain responsibility for the unit’s quality; establish and enforce quality standards for the unit through the Lead EngineersWorking with Project Managers, ensure unit’s responsibility to meet budget and schedule for assigned projectsApprove engineering documents produced by the unitCertify design documents as required by state and local client and code requirementsLead proposal preparation with input for scope and budget to PMsDevelop professional relationships with client counterpartsAssist in marketing the unit’s expertise/abilities to clientsProvide timely and appropriate performance feedback and coachingPromote professional development of staff (e.g., professional license, certifications, training, mentoring, and client qualifications)Support company policies and proceduresDemonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues either through own knowledge or by coordination with Subject Matter ExpertSupport maintenance of short- and long-range staffing plans based on work projectionsApprove timesheets and expense reportsConduct unit’s annual performance appraisalsSupport management in recruiting new employees Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited universityA minimum of 6 years of experience in design engineering with preference for 2 of those years of experience as a group leadAdvanced knowledge of applicable codes and standardsExcellent writing, presentation, and communication skillsAbility to travel up to 10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and technical team needs, typically a few daysAbility to motivate team and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership styleProven experience with a high level of decision making, directing and overseeing routine and advanced technical work performed by othersAbility to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant
