We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Manger to join the Manufacturing Services Organisation at Raynesway in Derby. To ensure on-time delivery of our manufacturing commitments to the Royal Navy, we are significantly investing in our asset management provision to drive resilience through-out the business.
You will be embedded within our Manufacturing Services organisation providing critical business support to one of our Delivery Business Units. This role has key responsibility for all of our EC&I requirements to the manufacturing business to maximise asset availability of all of our equipment. You will act as a key interface for the manufacturing Services business with the wider submarines business and our strategic alliance partners.

What you will be doing
Responsible for the performance and maintenance of all control and instrumentation engineering systems, machinery and processes, all electrical apparatus including High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) at the facility. As the facility’s technical lead, the role is to make sure that these systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, and safely.
Act as the Networks Senior Authorised Person and Assessing Officer for LV and HV systems.To ensure the safe operation, maintenance, testing, inspection, and configuration of all the electrical, control and instrumentation systems for infrastructure, process plant and equipment operated by the Submarines Business to the respective Accountable Manger and the site Accountable Person. Co-ordinate, schedule, and plan maintenance activities, for all electrical assets and assisting other disciplines during planned or unplanned shutdowns.Fulfil the role of line manager for the EC&I department.To assure the business meets the appropriate statutory and regulatory requirements regarding management and operation of electrical and control systems infrastructure.To investigate faults on any part of the plant or equipment and procure their timely rectification, briefing management on progress.Who we’re looking for:

Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.Extensive knowledge and experience with a range of electrical plant including HV switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, and variable speed drives etc.Demonstrable understanding of high voltage architectures and underlying principles and technologies including thermal management, high voltage safety and control strategies.An understanding of Health and Safety and Environmental Legislation, CDM standards and focussed on safe working.Ability to work well within a team and independently.We are an equal opportunities employer.
