Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer for our New York, NY office location. The Sustaining Engineering Electrical TPM will be responsible for overseeing the design of Post Facility Ready (FR) electrical system upgrades and retrofits. This includes building matrixed design teams from client's internal design and external design services partners/providers, facilitating the creation of a shared plan for the execution, and oversight of design services provided by an external design team in support of construction activities. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of mission critical design and construction, as well new product development and insertion.

 

This person will be responsible or but not limited to the following:

Proactively identify, organize, and lead program activities and stakeholders in order toSuccessfully deliver business, operational, and technical improvementsScope, phase, and lead ambiguous cross-functional and cross-organizational challenges including delivering downstream change management, alongside your stakeholder teamEnsure alignment of senior cross-functional and cross-organizational stakeholdersAdvanced knowledge of the domain of your program

Additional Responsibilities:

Proactively identify stakeholders and work with them to strategize, plan, and prioritize objectives and success criteriaEstimate task durations, and ensure schedules and dependencies are aligned and support those objectives within an organizationEffectively monitor and communicate progress, and risks. Propose mitigation plans, and align stakeholders on de-risking strategiesMeasure and publish program and process metrics to drive consensus in teams’ understanding of issues, and to drive decision-making and continuous improvementSeek out and apply relevant best practicesOrganize ambiguous projects into clear longer-term (6+ months) objectivesBuild effective program teams within and across an organization and address their needsGuide alignment on timelines, goals, and deliverables of related projects and teamsManage escalations and unblock obstaclesIndependently design and deliver optimized program communication plansOptimize regular checkpoints and metrics dashboardsEnsure stakeholders are aligned on rationale for program pivotsIndependently maintain project trackers and status reportsCreate automated processes to enhance velocity and monitoringDefine program governance structure by determining effective management of mitigations, postmortems, and escalation reportsIndependently develop change management rollout plans for programs including impact analysisProactively lead pivots requiring change management, monitor progress of change management rollout, and resolve misalignmentsTranslate ambiguous program goals into clear and measurable objectives/milestonesCreate project plans that break down a project into discrete phases aligned to the needs of stakeholders, include risks/dependencies and support proactive identification of program constraintsProactively manage program escalationsAcross multiple teams, develop technical analysis, tools, and processes that support engineering execution, excellence, and velocity

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

 

Preferred Requirements

Master's Degree and / or Professional Engineer (PE) license10 years experience in Electrical EngineeringStrong work ethic and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environmentProficiency in power distribution and backup power systemsThorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, practices, and related technical areas.Knowledge of industry construction methods and techniquesSelf-motivated with the ability to analyze and resolve issues promptlyAble to work independently with minimal oversight for extended periodsExceptional organizational skills and the ability to stay focused on multiple projects throughout various development phasesExcellent written and verbal communication skills for effective technical communication, including delivering presentations to large audiencesPossess advanced planning and communication management skillsDemonstrate proficiency in continuous improvement, execution, organizational change, and stakeholder managementAbility to establish systems to identify improvements and drive future needs around business processes, products, or services on an ongoing basis..
