At Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics in Sudbury, Suffolk, we are a global leading manufacturer in the assembly of specialist instrumentation for laboratories and hospitals across the world for Urinalysis, Diabetes, and Blood Gas analytics, and are the only facility in the network to make and ship these products globally.

Apply now for the position of Electrical Engineering Apprentice and you will have the opportunity to learn and develop core skills in Engineering in a Healthcare Manufacturing environment, alongside gaining a Level 4 qualification.  


Your role:

You will join our instrument support team that are responsible for the repair of medical instruments, maintenance and re-design of our production lines, and the introduction of new products and systems.You will develop core skills within Engineering, including how to demonstrate lean/continuous improvement actions, how to identify and write corrective action documents, how to project manage and how to create new procedures for a manufacturing process or validation.You will spend time with the electrical design experts within our R&D function to further your electrical and electronic knowledge, and you will spend time getting to know and understand how other departments within a manufacturing engineering business work together.You will also study towards a Level 4 Engineering HNC with an approved Apprenticeship Provider alongside your role, with the opportunity to further your qualification up to degree level upon successful completion. 

About you:

You will have a desire to develop your skills in an engineering/electronics disciplineYou will have an interest in "making things" and "how things work".You will have an interest in electronics or software either though school or hobby activities including such activities as Arduino, Lego Mindstorm, or other hobby projectsYou will possess good communication skills and a desire to work as part of a team to help solve problemsYou will be competent in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and have a strong interest in digitalisation.You will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Mathematics, English and a Science, Technology or Engineering related subject.You will also have (or be working towards) A Levels at grade C or above in both a Mathematical based subject and a Science, Technology, Engineering or additional Mathematics related subject, or 90+ credits in an Engineering BTEC at level 3.
