Purpose of Role: Execute on electrical design projects for crushing equipment and associated mineral processing systems. Support a diverse team to ensure electrical engineering deliverables meet relevant project and design requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain automation and controls software common in industrial PLC & HMI platforms (i.e. Siemens, Rockwell, etc.).Support and guide the development of macro projects to automate the generation of schematics (electrical & hydraulic), 2D & 3D layouts (electrical & mechanical), power single-line diagrams, electrical calculations, bills of material, and cable schedules, for manufacturing using EPLAN.Provide scope, schedule, budgetary cost estimates for projects.Creation of supporting engineering documentation such as install, operation, & maintenance (IOM) manuals, factory acceptance test procedures, site acceptance test procedures, etc.Reviewing equipment control logic sequencing together with the mechanical team to ensure electrical and mechanical alignment.System troubleshooting (remotely), root cause analysis, and corrective action activities.Working directly with electrical/mechanical/hydraulic suppliers for review of technical/engineering documentation on existing or new equipment development projects.Safety First: Demonstrate commitment to Weir’s zero-harm behaviors in support of the drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Skills and Experience:

Possess good working skills with experience in industrial control panel designs including three-phase electric motors (variable voltages & frequencies), electro-hydraulic systems, common industrial PLC & HMI platforms, industrial process networking (i.e. Profinet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, etc.), instrumentation for condition monitoring, cabling/conductors, termination methods, device labelling standardizations, and industrial enclosures (i.e. sizing, mounting configuration, IP ratings, etc.).Familiarity with electrical design standards such as IEC, IEEE, SA, NEMA, NEC – NFPA70, CSA/UL, European Conformity, and OSHA.Experience with Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for process installations.Basic familiarity and experience with common industrial PLC & HMI software/hardware configurations (i.e. Siemens, Rockwell, etc.).Technical knowledge and understanding of foundational concepts in Electrical and Control Systems Engineering.Basic understanding of how typical electrical and hydraulic system schematics are configured with conventional device symbol libraries using NFPA or IEC design methodologies.Experience with electrical CAD software platforms such as EPLAN & AutoCAD.

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical, control systems, or related engineering fieldAt least 2 years' experience in an equipment design field.Familiarity with electrical design requirements for heavy industrial equipment. and common electrical design methodologies such as NFPA & IEC.Experience in product manufacturing is very important.must be able to travel up to 5%
