Job Description
Operate independently and collaborate closely with application engineers, electrical engineers, and mechanical teams on projects to ensure clear communication and finalization of construction drawing packages. This role focuses on minimizing gaps/issues and improving quality for manufacturing/testing. You will be responsible for designing electrical systems based on customer-approved drawings, understanding and reviewing customer redlines, and supporting Electrical Engineers in revising the drawings. Additionally, you will create and finalize construction drawings, coordinate with the engineering team, follow engineering processes, and check construction drawing packages to maintain quality.
ResponsibilitiesOperate independently and collaborate with the engineering team on projects.Design electrical systems based on customer-approved drawings.Understand and review customer redlines to support Electrical Engineers in revising drawings.Create and finalize construction drawings including control schematics, three lines, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, sub panel layouts, and cross-check BOM.Coordinate with the electrical and mechanical engineering team for door layouts and conduit, wireway, and cable tray runs.Follow engineering processes and attend meetings to ensure gaps are not found in manufacturing.Check construction drawing packages by cross-checking Design Check Lists prior to release.Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and promptly close issues for on-time shipments.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Essential SkillsProficiency in SolidWorks, power system, and power electronics.Knowledge of engineering, design, and manufacturing of Medium Voltage/Low Voltage Switchgear (Metal-Clad, Metal-Enclosed, E-House, etc.) and other power distribution equipment integrated into the switchgear.Interpretation of customer specifications, drawings (One Line, Controls, 3 lines, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules), and power system requirements as they apply to MV/LV products.Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE standards and NEC codes.Minimum BSEE or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.1-6 years of experience in the power system industry.Additional Skills & QualificationsDesired EIT or PE licensure.Work Environment
This position is part of a growing company and industry, particularly in the electrification field, driven by the EV Charger and Data Center boom and the current state of US Infrastructure. An Engineer with a Bachelor's degree will have the opportunity to move into an Electrical Engineering role within one year. The role requires coordination with both electrical and mechanical engineering teams, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $62.50/hr.
