OVERVIEW
The Electrical Engineer provides technical leadership and expertise in overseeing electrical systems to optimize and improve plant reliability and efficiency. Performs a variety of engineering work in designing, maintaining, and overseeing process and plant electrical systems. Responsible for troubleshooting process equipment as directed and for engineering to maintain and improve the reliability of equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership, direction and oversight in troubleshooting and maintenance of all plant electrical systems and processes. Designs, develops, and tests electrical distribution systems, load centers, and associated services. Prepares electrical drawings and specifications. Perform electrical studies and specifies electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, motors, VFD’s, MCCs, etc.).as required to support improvements. Oversees root cause analysis of technical issues and develops and implements plans to address Establishes maintenance plans for plant electrical systems and ensures that PM and PdM plans and schedules are maintained. Supervises plant electrical resources and provides training as required Develops capital improvement projects and specifies vendors and equipment specifications Manages project schedules and budgets and works with the Engineering group to ensure priorities are aligned Able to handle projects of moderate or large scope requiring detailed coordination. Oversees contractors and suppliers to ensure parts availability and acceptable work performance Accountable for ensuring that all equipment is capable of meeting the plant objectives Ensures compliance with all safety, quality and environmental requirements and standards for all work Works with purchasing and finance to prepare requests for proposals and vendor specifications and evaluate bids. Ensures all code requirements are maintained and provides skill and knowledge on electrical code for all maintenance and improvement work
Knowledge and Experience
5+ years of manufacturing experience with medium (4160v) and high voltage (15kv) systems & power distribution. Experience with power breakers, electronic relays, and protective design for synchronized power generation. Experience with PLC control systems. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley and similar control systems Strong leadership and project management skills Experience supervising mechanical, electrical, or other skilled personnel. Strong knowledge of ESA code, and associated safety systems Good communication and presentation skills. Experience with food manufacturing; Food Safety and Quality systems Knowledge of Continuous improvement, lean manufacturing systems, and root cause analysis Knowledge of SAP and computerized maintenance management systems Familiarity with Food Manufacturing, Food Safety, GMP’s
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college in Electrical Engineering preferred or 309A license and experience required.

Able to work and support teams in a 24/7 operating environment. Self-starter with good organizational skills and a high standards of workmanship
