We are delighted to share that we have an excellent opportunity for a time-serviced Electrical Engineer to join us within our Blythswood site on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Electrical Engineer – Total Base Salary of £42,119.37 + competitive benefits package including pension, shares scheme and bonus!
Shifts
As an Electrical Engineer, you will work a total of 38 hours per week between Monday to Thursday 07.00 - 15.45 and Friday 07.00 - 12.00 midday.

About the role
Blythswood Operations encompasses an exciting array of spirit production processes, from filling and disgorging to the maturation of whisky and rum. Supported by advanced warehousing techniques - including traditional storage, high-racking systems, and palletised operations - these processes ensure seamless and efficient management of the spirit at every stage, delivering excellence from start to finish.
Join us as an Electrical Engineer and play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and improving our assets across our site that drive our operations. Your key responsibilities will include:
Asset Maintenance & Improvement: Ensure efficient and effective maintenance, repair, problem-solving, and continuous improvement of site assets to maximise their availability and reliability.
Safety Leadership: Prioritise health, safety, and wellbeing by working safely within your team, identifying hazards, adhering to safety procedures, and proactively preventing incidents.
Collaboration: Work closely with operations teams, CAPEX, and other maintenance groups to optimise operational efficiency and achieve site objectives.
Data Management: Utilise our Computerised Maintenance Management System (SAP-PM) to raise, update, and document maintenance tasks, aligning with the asset care delivery plan.
Performance Monitoring: Partner with Operations, Site Management, and Maintenance Planners to meet and exceed Plant KPI metrics, ensuring compliance with business goals.
Stock Control: Manage spare parts and stock items, ensuring accurate record-keeping via SAP-PM and adherence to Diageo's stock control processes.
Continuous Improvement: Lead or support initiatives to enhance asset reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Drive Manufacturing Excellence (TRACC) activities to meet asset care metrics.
Root Cause Analysis: Take ownership of root cause problem-solving (RCPS) activities, providing expertise to implement long-term, effective solutions.
Innovation & Leadership: Drive asset care improvement projects at your site and contribute to the wider asset care community to promote best practices.
Health and safety compliance is key, and you will be at the forefront of making sure this is monitored alongside ensuring both site and personal KPI’s are achieved.

About you
To be successful in this role, we’re looking for someone who is a time served engineer with a recognised HNC-level qualification and hands-on maintenance or engineering experience apprenticeship or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will excel in teamwork, demonstrate strong decision-making abilities, and thrive in problem-solving situations. Possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the site. Additionally, they will proactively suggest and evaluate improvements, striving to enhance manufacturing excellence while showcasing exceptional communication abilities.
Essential skills and experience:
Have the drive and strong commitment to driving manufacturing excellence and demonstrate exceptional analytical skills to effectively solve problems and shown ability to drive improvements
Well-organised, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively for yourself and others
Knowledge and application of reliability maintenance techniques
Experience in data analysis, use of applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and business systems such as SAP, desirable
Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and environmental risk principles.
Capable of collaborating effectively within a team and working independently, demonstrating strong attention to detail.
Flexibility and open to contributing to 24-hour breakdown support as part of a pre-scheduled rota (where applicable).
