Job Description:
Parsons ise seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the electrical aspects of our construction projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and project specifications, particularly those set by Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC). This role requires coordination with multiple stakeholders, including utility agencies, contractors, and internal project teams, to deliver high-quality electrical works within project timelines.
What You'll Be Doing:
Review and Approval:
Review all design documents related to project scope as per the authorities' requirements (ADDC).Review and approve the Contractor’s MEP Shop Drawings, Method Statements, Risk Assessments (MSRA), Quality Control Procedures (QCP), and Inspection Test Plans (ITP) as delegated by the Resident Engineer.Coordination and Liaison:
Coordinate with Utility Agency representatives and Contractors regarding construction approvals and design changes.Maintain a strong working relationship with the ADDC Project Department and O&M Department.Site Inspections and Testing:
Conduct planned site inspections in accordance with intervention points identified in relevant ITPs.Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as required.Monitor and coordinate inspections, testing, and materials reconciliation to ensure commissioning of all electrical works and obtain final N.O.C.s.Construction Oversight:
Oversee construction inspections, surveying, and testing requests for MEP works.Verify work measurements taken by Inspectors and Land Surveyors.Review and coordinate the preparation of as-built utilities drawings with inspectors and surveyors.Installation and Commissioning:
Ensure proper installation, testing, and commissioning of LV and MV (22/11 KV) cables, LV panels, package units, and fire protection (FP) systems.Supervise installation of MV and LV joints and terminations.Materials Management:
Monitor material submissions and approvals, and review the updating of the Materials Schedule to mitigate construction delays.Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare and manage MEP meeting minutes and ensure accurate documentation.What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Proven ability to perform in a management capacity, excellent written and oral communications.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with typically 8+ years of related work experience.
8+ years of managing construction and supervising of infrastructure projects including Bridges/roads/Under passes/Tunnels.
Professional Engineer registration may be required.
Must have the ability to develop strong working relationships with third party client, consultants, contractors, and local authorities.
Experience in dealing with government authorities such as ADDC, ADM, DMT etc.Â
Thorough knowledge of ADDC regulations and standards.
Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
