Electrical Engineer
Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description

Design and develop best-in-class motor control systems for a variety of industries and applications, including testing of electric vehicle propulsion systems, maximizing oil production with artificial intelligence at the well, optimizing metal forming, dynamic automotive testing, and delivering precision control systems for a wide range of applications in the converting industry. As a Systems Design Engineer, you will understand what type of system the customer needs and determine from a high level what components, circuits, motor controls, power electronics, etc., are needed to give the customer the power they need for their application. These systems can operate with horsepower in the thousands and voltages up to 460 or 720 volts.

ResponsibilitiesDesign motor control and test system solutions, including creation of Power Distribution Diagrams, Network Distribution Diagrams, and Electrical schematics.Develop electrical and mechanical drawing packages for industrial motor control and battery testing/simulation systems optimized for size and ease of manufacturing.Verify conformance of components and systems to customer specifications.Complete load, voltage, amperage, and heat calculations to ensure proper design.Create system bill of materials.Work with Purchasing and Vendors to evaluate alternate components.Essential SkillsExperience with power electronics and electrical engineering.Proficiency in motor control systems.Ability to conduct high-level load, voltage, power, and amperage calculations.3+ years of experience specifying components and systems used in electrical designs for applications involving power electronics and/or voltages of up to 460 or higher.Additional Skills & QualificationsBSEE or Engineering Degree in Electrical Field.Experience with the design of motor control and test systems.Familiarity with high-powered drive systems used in automotive testing.Work Environment

The role offers some flexibility to work remotely 2-3 days per week, depending on project needs. Occasionally, you may be required to be onsite 5 days a week. The work environment involves collaborating with different teams to ensure system components meet customer specifications and operational requirements.
