Are you ready to take on the challenge of developing innovative electrical systems that will help us deliver world-class products to our customers? In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems for new and existing products within the Material and Structural Analysis Division (MSD). Your mission is to create solutions that meet customer needs and ensure product quality and reliability.

The Electrical Engineer will work closely with various parts of the organization (Research and Development, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Marketing, Procurement, Service, etc.) and suppliers to find opportunities and implement design changes that deliver cost improvements. This position is based in Brno, as part of the Operations Strategy Deployment organization in MSD Operations.

What will you do?

Investigate current designs to find opportunities for cost improvement and document these opportunities to build our funnel of ideas.Redesign and implement changes in parts and assemblies to improve material, quality, service, and manufacturing costs.Collaborate with other departments (Engineering, R&D, Procurement, Service, Sourcing, Finance), third-party design partners, and suppliers on cost improvement projects.Act as cost engineering within cross-site New Product development projects.Proactively identify issues, concerns, or challenges in the Design to Cost program. Facilitate trade-off decisions and remove obstacles.

How will you get here?

University degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills.Relevant working experience in crafting electronics, participating in technical discussions, and resolving technical issues.Knowledge of Product Development and Project Management Practices, Processes, and Tools.Experience with Value Engineering and/or Design for Six Sigma.Knowledge of design principles, new product development, and engineering change processes.Awareness of manufacturing, service, factory, and supply chain processes.Business and Financial Acuity: Understands product cost structure and its relation to project financials.Ability to work across language and cultural barriers.Fluency in English.
