What a day at EXP has in store for you
Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills are required. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in support of multiple projects is essential. REVIT and AutoCAD proficient with working drawings. Prepare floor plans showing electrical device layouts, fixtures, circuitry, equipment, etc. Perform calculations for fault current and/or overcurrent coordination study. Implement proper AIC ratings of equipment with limited input from senior staff. Prepare one-line diagrams with limited input from senior staff. Review calculations for electrical loads and panel schedules. Thorough knowledge of NEC and other codes. Understands and applies concepts of voltage drop, conductor sizing, harmonics, etc. Edit electrical specifications with limited input from senior staff. Layout fire alarm devices on floor plans with limited input from senior staff. Develop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases. Edit specifications to reflect project requirements. Select and schedule equipment with limited oversight from senior staff. Meet with vendors to determine specification requirements for application. Performs field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects. Coordinates with other disciplines (MEPFP, Architectural, Structural, Process, etc.) Maintains the engineering book for the project. Respond to RFI’s for the project, and accurately review submittal with limited input from senior staff. Solve installation problems with electrical systems, travel to site to resolve issues. Apply risk management procedures to minimize exp’s and client’s exposure to problems. Understand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in the work plan. Understand proper scope of SD, DD, CD and LOD 100, 200 and 300 level documents – and deliver appropriate documentation. Work with senior engineers, PM and client to meet scheduled milestones on multiple projects. Manage and deliver revisions and sketches. Edit and develop scope of work narratives (Basis of Design, etc.) Meet with contractors during the bid phase to review construction details.
What your experience looks like
Minimum of four years experience in related design of Life Sciences, Research and Development, Pharmaceutical, and Critical Facilities systems and building projects. Engineering Degree (BS Electrical, BS Architectural Engineering, or equivalent) from an accredited school. EIT License preferred but not required Ability to travel locally.The pay range for this role is $105,000 to $135,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
