Electrical Design Engineer
Electrical Design Engineer (Direct Placement for Client) Sigma Design has collaborated with an industry leading reformer, hydrogen production, and fuel cell technology company is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their facility in Bend, OR. They provide services which can accelerate fuel cell producer’s commercialization efforts, thereby speeding their entry into the marketplace. We pay the initiation fee as well as ½ monthly fee to the health club of the employee’s choice + COSTCO Membership to employee and spouse plus annual renewal + Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm + $107,000 - $125,000 annually/DOE Primary Function: The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for design and troubleshooting of PCBAs and electrical components. This is for a position as part of a team tasked with the design and implementation of various products in the area of fuel cell power systems. Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities: + Designs, develops, and analyzes all aspects of analog and digital hardware. + Specify system level electrical architecture while working closely with controls engineers. + Utilize current technologies in component selection, manufacture, test, and design methods. + Utilizes experience in hardware and controls to achieve cost effective designs that best fit the project requirements while implementing state of the art technologies. + Provides technical support to manufacturing facilities and field service engineers. + Provides technical support for product certification. + Performs or works with outside labs to provide root cause failure analysis of failed PCBAs and electrical components. + Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences. Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) + Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science required + Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience required + Understands hazards of and can work safely when working with high energy battery systems and 3 phase line voltages of 240VAC. + Familiar with Altium Software; symbol creation, schematic capture and layout including footprint creation. + Knowledge of the PCB manufacturing process and ISO standards for manufacturability. + Experience working with PCB Fabricators. + Experience with obtaining product safety certification. + Demonstrated success in a team environment. + Experience with product commercialization and documentation requirements. + Experience in mixed signal design. + Experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting. + Experience designing and building wire harnesses. + ITAR - Permanent resident of the United States (“U.S. person” as defined by ITAR) + Background - Pass a post-offer background verification. Work Environment Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions.
