Volt is immediately hiring for an Electrical Design Engineer in Wichita, KS.

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will design electrical power conversion products for aircraft critical systems and cabin applications. Experience the entire product lifecycle, from concept and requirements, through design, implementation, testing and certification and field application. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be familiar with several technologies including DC-to-AC inverters, DC-to-DC converters, AC-to-DC converters, AC-to-AC converters, power regulation for battery systems, power distribution and control. You can expect opportunities ranging from 10W to 600W+ capabilities. You’ll be part of the reason our customers consider us a premier instrument, avionics, and aircraft power solutions provider.

Within this role, you will:

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCreate schematics and direct PCB layout using PADs\r\n\tResearch new components, technologies, and methods to incorporate into new designs\r\n\tCoordinate with other functional teams, including layout, mechanical, software, and certification engineers\r\n\tBuild and troubleshoot hardware, including soldering, operation of test equipment, and daily work in both office and test lab environments\r\n\tDesign and execute test procedures to verify compliance with applicable performance, regulatory, and quality requirements\r\n\tDesign and integrate manufacturing tools as needed for new products\r\n\tCreate and document designs in required formats, including BOMs, ECOs, and work instructions\r\n\r\n\r\n

This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate will have:

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n\r\n\tMaster’s degree in electrical engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering\r\n\t5 or more years of experience designing power conversion products\r\n\tProficiency in designing and troubleshooting analog circuits and switch-mode power electronics\r\n\tA background in magnetics including power transformers and filters\r\n\tProficiency with Microsoft Office\r\n\tAbility to work in a team environment\r\n\tStrong attention to detail\r\n\tOrganized, focused and results oriented\r\n\tProblem-solving skills with critical thinking and prioritizing skills\r\n\tExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills\r\n\tExperience designing to environmental requirements such as RTCA DO-160 or similar aerospace, military, or commercial standards\r\n\tExperience with PADS, or similar schematic capture, and PCB layout software, and PSpice or LTSpice simulation tools\r\n\tExperience with Design for Manufacture and Design for Test (DFM & DFT)\r\n\r\n\r\n

Salary: $100,000- $130,000 per year
