Title:  Design & Development Engineer – Marine Electrical Systems

Position Overview:

Brunswick, Fort Wayne has another great opportunity for the right person with 5+ years’ experience in product design and development – primarily in electrical systems.  Your opportunities include leading the related engineering efforts for Pontoons from components, systems, assemblies, & master model architecture.  You’ll have responsibility from concept to production and will follow the Brunswick product development process and timeline.  You’d be a great fit for the team if you have the right credentials in a similar role and are experienced using 3D modelling tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and/or other 3D modeling tools.

Essential Functions:

design and develop of DC harnesses for the marine markethelp provide solutions for efficient electrical systems architecture and wiring strategiesparticipate in all phases of new product development, from start to finishcoordinate efforts as necessary between all functions of the businessopportunistically serve as subject-matter expert (SME) for electric systems in Brunswickparticipate in the ECN / ECR Process as neededestablish, update, and manage Bills of Materialcontribute and lead problem solving activities – including co-development of FMEAssupport system-level boat testing and validation of componentstrack cost against an established target cost throughout the product development cycleadhere to best DFMA principles in your designscreate partnerships with suppliers to enhance design solutionsmaintain a strong CI / VA / VE mindset to maximize consumer valueidentify and manage risk, engaging others when you need helpmanage projects successfully from start to finishtravel less than 10% per yearcollaborate effectively with your team as well as cross-functionally

Required Qualifications:

A bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a Technical Degree with equivalent experience5+ years’ experience in electrical systems and related technologies in the marine, powersports, off-road or auto industriesa basic understanding of electrical harness fabrication tools and processesgeneral knowledge of GD&Tstrong skills in 2D / 3D electrical system / harnesses modelingabove average written, verbal and presentations skills – engaging all levels of the organizationproficiency in Microsoft office tools

The anticipated pay range for this position is $69,000 to $ 110,500 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
