Type: Contract Job Title: Electrical Controls Engineer II Location: Concord, NC (Primarily in Concord, NC, with travel to Wilmington. Could have travel to other plants in Midland, Winston Salem, and Hickory.) candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Concord, NC Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience) A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as: Excellent problem-solving abilities Strong communication and team collaboration skills Ability to adapt and handle multiple priorities Description: The Electrical Controls Engineer II will play a pivotal role in supporting the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of new or modified production equipment. Responsibilities will include supervising and providing direction to internal and external teams, performing hands-on troubleshooting and system start-up, modifying existing documentation, and ensuring proper system integration. Responsibilities: Perform hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment. Supervise and provide guidance to contract engineering techs, internal maintenance, and outside contract trades during all stages of equipment installation, including demolition, construction, testing, and debugging. Troubleshoot and start-up electrical and controls systems for production equipment. Modify and update machine control programs for automated processes, including robotics and PLC-controlled systems. Assess the condition and functionality of existing equipment and implement modifications as needed. Procure materials and expedite parts for equipment installation. Develop and maintain electrical installation checklists, schedules, and documentation. Provide training to teams on new equipment installation procedures. Identify and implement cost-saving measures in equipment design and installation practices. Provide third-level troubleshooting support and recommend changes to design or processes to improve efficiencies. Required Qualifications: Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role. Skills: Hands-on experience with electrical controls and automation systems. Strong troubleshooting and electro-mechanical skills. Proficient with electrical schematics and system documentation. Familiar with motion control, PLC programming, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., RS232, Ethernet). Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
