McCain Smithton is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join our Maintenance team in the role of Electrical Control Technician. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will carry out technical support functions including (but not limited to) the diagnosis and repair of faults on electrical and control equipment. This includes, develop, modify, install and commission electrical control equipment and PLC programs for process improvement and new projects.
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate leadership and customer focus, with a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain and Program Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), SCADA and communication systems. Oversee the entire electrical system on site ensuring that our systems are compliant with local standards & regulations. Liaise with maintenance and production personnel. Use Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Identify and procure electrical and control equipment. Design and implement plant improvements and modifications. Troubleshoot and repair electronic faults, and systems on plant electrical equipment. Test, install and calibrate transducers and actuators. Install and setup variable frequency and servo drives. Assist in the training of Electricians and ApprenticesAs part of this role it is expected that you will understand and practise safe company procedures in line with:

Mandatory:
A Class Electrical License
Electrical Trade Certificate
Allen Bradley PLC qualifications / experience
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with Beckoff, Siemens and Omron would be an advantage
RSlogix experience
Continuous process manufacturing experience.
