Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Electrical CAD Designer/Operator to join our Electrical practice in Long Beach, California!
ResponsibilitiesThis individual will primarily be responsible for: designing and producing sets of plans for electrical systems including, electrical vehicle charging and building electrical
Participate on project teams in an active production role
Participate in project meetings internally and externally with clients
Preparation of project specifications
Preparation of electrical construction cost estimates
Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines
Perform quality work that promotes client retention
Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including photovoltaic electrical site plans, equipment selection, photovoltaic module string sizing calculations, ampacity calculations and wire sizing
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred)
3+ years of design experience in Electrical Engineering specifically in any of the following:
Advanced knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD
Understanding of the National Electrical code, other NFPA codes/standards, energy codes
Building Information Modeling (BIM-Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus
Knowledge and understanding of Microstation experience is a plus
Electrical power, lighting and fire alarm design experience
The ability to work independently or in team environment effectively
The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter
Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and a desire to learn
Ability to work independently and with a team
Salary Range:
$50,000 to $70,000
