Now Hiring: Electrical Assembler

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Assembler to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building copper wire electrical assemblies using tools such as crimpers and wire strippers. Your positive attitude and experience with assembly will be crucial as you primarily focus on assembling and testing cable assemblies, picking orders from computerized order sheets, and pulling orders manually. You will also read build kits, assist in basic assembly, and ensure the accuracy of units before they are shipped out.

ResponsibilitiesUse hand tools and/or machines to assemble various shipboard, aviation, and ground tactical fiber optic and electrical components into finished goods.Safely operate production tools and equipment.Ensure orders are completed on or before the required due dates and that they meet the required quality standards.Read and understand drawings and schematics.Maintain required records of production and report any inconsistencies in equipment operation or materials to supervisor.Maintain proper inventory traceability on components.Train and oversee Assembler I personnel.Lift/move material up to 50 pounds.Essential SkillsExperience with copper wire electrical assemblies.Ability to use tools such as crimpers and wire strippers.Experience with assembly and testing of cable assemblies.Ability to read and understand build kits and schematics.Experience using hand tools and machines for assembly.Strong attention to detail.Additional Skills & QualificationsSome experience, Associate’s Degree preferred.MIL-STD-2042C Certification preferred.IPC-A-620 Certification Preferred.Experience with electronic assembly, fiber optics, quality inspection, schematics, and production.Experience with soldering, blueprint reading, production assembly, and manufacturing.Experience with cable assembly and wire harness building.Computer skills for making labels.Strong measuring skills.Experience working with small parts.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Shop environment with approximately 20 people. The atmosphere is relaxed, allowing for casual attire such as jeans and shorts, but close-toed shoes are required. The role involves working with advanced tools and equipment in a supportive and collaborative team setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00
