Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor
Position: Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor Job Code: MOMNM2 + Supv, Maintenance Location: St. Paul, Minnesota The Opportunity: Primarily responsible for supervising the maintenance electricians and instrumentation technicians and provide daily technical support to operations, engineering, and manufacturing personnel. This position provides support to manufacturing operations, by improving existing processes, and developing new and cost-effective manufacturing concepts. This position is also responsible for the efficient operation of the mill control/electrical equipment. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: * Responsible to ensure long term reliability (availability) of the plant equipment through prudent balance of operational, maintenance, and engineering activities designed to ensure that equipment is operated properly, that proper care is administered, and conditions are monitored to preclude failures. Where failures occur, analyze the cause and develop the actions, procedures, etc., to avoid recurrence, including but not limited to: * Electrical equipment. * General building wiring * Motors, Drives, and Controls * Power distribution equipment * DCS, PLC and Control Equipment. * Improve existing processes; develop new and cost-effective manufacturing concepts. Optimize the balance between minimizing maintenance costs and maximizing equipment performance. Execute validation and qualifications protocols. * Provide technical assistance and maintenance engineering support to manufacturing. Provide support for outages and major unit turnarounds. * Support maintenance personnel in resolving facilities and equipment problems using systematic methods of troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and irreversible corrective action. Participate in or lead Root Cause Failure Analysis, report findings, along with recommended remedies. Resolve maintenance/reliability issues. * Provide technical support for capital and expense projects to ensure maintainability, standardization, and quality. * Supervisor Electricians and Instrumentation Technicians. * Develop appropriate electrical and instrumentation training programs. * Develop appropriate electrical and Instrumentation Preventative Maintenance programs. * Other duties as required. What you need to succeed: * Degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline, or an electrician\u2019s license (master license is a plus) * A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the manufacturing environment. * Supervisor / Lead experienced is a plus. * Strong background in Microsoft Project, Word, PowerPoint and Excel. * General maintenance knowledge of maintaining and monitoring equipment (motors, drives, PLCs, control loops, control networks, etc.) * General knowledge of applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, etc.). * Must be able to effectively evaluate equipment performance and trouble-shoot equipment and process problems using critical analytical skills. * Demonstrated team and influence skills to work with salaried and hourly employees to execute maintenance in accordance with Maintenance Best Practices. * Effectively communicates with all levels of employees, management and production, crafts and vendors or contractors. * Must be able to plan, coordinate and delegate all planning-related activities. * "Efficiency" minded, well organized, disciplined and creative at finding solutions. * Ability to access all areas of the plant and conduct physical evaluations of grounds and equipment including ability to climb, and work at high elevations and tolerate exposure to high humidity, cold and excessive noise. The salary range for this position is $82,875.00 - $110,500.00, depending on your role, level, and location.
