Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Draughts person
Job Title:Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Draughtsperson (Pretoria)
Main Purpose:
The E&I Draughts person is responsible for creating and updating technical drawings, schematics, and layouts for electrical and instrumentation systems used in industrial or engineering projects. The role involves working closely with engineers and project teams to ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and compliance of designs with industry
standards and project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Drawing Preparation:
Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using MicroStation CAD software.
Prepare layouts for electrical and instrumentation systems based on project requirements.
Design Support:
Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand design objectives and project scope
Incorporate feedback into drawings and update designs as needed.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure drawings comply with South African regulations, safety standards, and industry norms (e.g., SANS).
Documentation:
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related documents.
Generate bills of materials and assist in project documentation.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct accuracy checks to ensure drawings meet specifications and design criteria.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma in Draughting, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
Minimum of [3-5] years of experience in electrical and instrumentation draughting.
Proficiency in Auto CAD and excellent MicroStation software.
Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems and their components.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Certification in CAD or draughting is an advantage.
Bentley Systems: Microstation (Electrical) certification or experience is an advantage.
