As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will develop, lead, and implement test plans and procedures on the Production Test Engineering team. This is a hands-on testing role and you will have ownership of electrical and avionics systems for ground support equipment (GSE) and spaceflight systems. The team focuses on supporting the testing of the integrated avionics subsystems on the New Glenn heavy lift launch vehicle including electrical power, network, communication, embedded controllers, data acquisition, instrumentation, and guidance, navigation, and control. We develop and review test methods, GSE and test procedures to efficiently complete integrated system testing for multiple test campaigns. We coordinate test crews and GSE while establishing vehicle configurations for testing throughout vehicle production and refurbishment operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work independently to develop test plans, test procedures, and execute tests ensuring all steps and processes are followed, while being accountable for the safety of personnel and hardware involved in the testDevelop/coordinate test instrumentation requirements with customers, oversee ICD’s, procedures and other engineering artifacts related to test hardware Assist in harness development including design, budgeting, procurement, verification, and integration Maintain automated test equipment configuration control, calibration, and traceability Write test procedures, manage procedural red lines, and include updates to test campaigns Coordinate vendors to design and fabricate test equipment/GSE Integrate testing and operability features into new vehicle designs Participate in gated design and test readiness reviews Define and perform facility activation tests Maintain and operate avionics or electrical hardware and/or software Enforce safety policies during test planning and operations Troubleshoot anomalies real-time and provide solutions during non-conformance scenarios While this position is based in Florida, there is some travel to other sites(10%) to work with design and other test engineers Connect to customers and own technical reviews and documentation for own projects Incorporate feedback to test documentation and processes to improve efficiencies Work at elevated heights and/or tight spacesSupport both indoor and outdoor testing conditions in all seasonsMinimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field Exhibits a strong safety work ethic Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be adaptable and flexible Experience troubleshooting hardware relate to a variety of vehicle electrical systems Ability to read electrical panel schematics/layout designs Ability to support off shift, extended hours, and weekends as required for mission milestonesAbility to support 1 on call weekend every 2 months 2+ years experience supporting test teams as a vehicle system operator, test conductor, test engineer, or console operatorMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications:
