Body Builder Advisory Service Electrical Analyst is a detailed technical support and liaison role bridging the gap between Ford's engineering world and the aftermarket upfitting industry, ensuring that upfitters have the information and support they need to work effectively with Ford commercial vehicles, while also bringing their real-world feedback back into Ford. **In this position...** This position provides an exciting opportunity in managing and responding to upfitter technical questions, particularly those related to electrical systems and CAD data, using a helpdesk system and making sure you answer promptlyYou'd also play a key role in creating and updating technical documentation that upfitters rely on. This includes reviewing and contributing electrical information to the detailed "Body Builder Layout Books" for new vehicle models each year and writing or revising technical "Bulletins" to address common electrical issues or provide specific guidance. With our incredible plans for the future of mobility, we have a wide variety of opportunities for you to accelerate your career and help us define tomorrow’s transportation. **What you'll do...** Body Builder Advisory Service Electrical Analyst Commercial Vehicle Programs: 1. **Direct Upfitter Support & Inquiry Management:** This category is all about being the primary point of contact and providing immediate help to the external companies modifying the vehicles. 2. Work with commercial aftermarket body upfitters/equipment companies looking for electrical guidance, technical specifications, or support with the upfit of a Ford commercial vehicles 3. Action upfitter Electrical and CAD inquiries via cloud-based helpdesk/ticketing software system while maintaining our BBAS ticket closure timing targets. 4. **Technical Documentation and Information Management:** This covers creating, updating, and maintaining the official technical resources that upfitters rely on. 5. Help review/provide necessary electrical updates (schematics and guidance) to the various Body Builder Layout Books for each new model year 6. Author new or revise existing Bulletins addressing electrical upfitter issues 7. Update Body Builder Advisory Service Website as necessary 8. **Internal Engineering & Program Liaison:** This involves working closely with internal Ford teams (i.e., engineering, planning, manufacturing) to share information, resolve issues, and provide expertise from the upfitter perspective. 9. Work directly with vehicle line/program engineers on commercial vehicle issues, defining upfit guidance, clarifying technical specs and conveying information back to commercial vehicle upfitters 10. Convey emerging quality/design issues back to responsible program engineers/assembly plant vehicle teams 11. Work with Forward Model vehicle architecture and programs (planning and engineering) as a subject matter expert for commercial vehicle applications/vocations, and help determine the effect on new vehicle systems/options as they apply to aftermarket upfitters for commercial applications 12. **Event Participation and Support:** This includes participating in specific events designed to interact with and support the upfitter community. 13. Support Special Vehicle Engineering Upfitter Measuring Sessions 14. Support Commercial Vehicle Product Conference Events, including annual Spring and Fall National Truck Equipment Association Work Truck Week. The role balances external customer support, technical writing/publishing, internal collaboration and advocacy, and participation in industry events. It really is a central hub for communication and technical expertise related to commercial vehicle upfitting! **You'll have...** + Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + Minimum of 10-15 years of Commercial Vehicles and Electrical Upfitting experience. + Familiarity with circuit design + Excellent oral/written communication skills + Desire to investigate and answer questions on a wide range of vehicle system electrical questions + Knowledge of the Commercial Truck Industry (Class 2-7) + Ability to work directly with upfitters/dealers outside of Ford Motor Company to provide information and help with vehicle electrical upfit issues + General knowledge in the use of Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teamcenter/CAD + Ability to work in a "team" environment + Must be able to work a hybrid and open work setting Join our team as we create tomorrow!
