What You'll Do Monitor furnace and optimize slag foaming conditions Visually inspect furnace for problems (water leaks, refractory wear, and heel control) Interpret all operational procedures and parameters including Job Safety Analysis and Work Instructions Ability to manage personnel, good communication, problem-solving, decision-making, time management, organization and the ability to think and act strategically Ability to adhere to CMC safety policies and procedures Ability to make sure all employees are trained and well prepared to carry out their daily tasks to ensure everyone's safety Assist Utility Operator and Assistant Furnace Operator with the exchanging of electrodes Assist arc furnace personnel with between heat turnarounds Assist on helping out on the furnace floor during operations and down day Assist with all furnace repairs and preventive maintenance on downdays What You'll Need Displays a "can do" attitude, sense of urgency, and dedication to the success of the overall mission of plant and company goals Actively participate and assist in leading team with CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety Culture (Take 2, Observation Cards and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Your Education High School Diploma or GED required
