**Job Summary and Qualifications**
We are seeking an EKG Technician II to join our healthcare team. Your primary function is to be responsible for performing EKG and application of Holter Monitor to record patient cardiac rhythm data for diagnostic purposes. You will maintain accurate Pyramis archival system for storage of digital studies, assign digital studies to reading physicians and assure study results distribution to patient charts and referring physician offices after physician interpretation and upon request.. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family and works together in a collaborative manner.
**In this role you will:**
+ Comply with patient privacy and safety guidelines (Patient Identifiers)
+ Practice infections control standards
+ Prioritizes patients in completing the daily schedule
+ Reviews patient data with physicians as requested.
+ Prioritizes patients in completing the daily schedule.
+ Performs 12 Lead EKG using correct lead placement and machine set up
+ Enters all required information into EKG machine
+ Correctly transmits EKG data to EKG Management System
+ Correctly attaches Order to EKG in EKG management system
+ Correctly assigns EKG to Interpreting physician in EKG management system
+ Deletes duplicate EKG ( when Multiple EKG’s have been performed in error)
+ Performs Pediatric EKG’s using proper lead placement and machine set up.
+ Properly applies Holter monitor to patient
+ Performs Treadmill Stress Test
+ Responds to Code Blue/STP/Rapid Response codes.
+ Serves as a resource to ED staff as needed, assist with EKG’s, troubleshooting issues, and education
+ Assures ED orders are received and attached to appropriate ED physician as quickly as possible.
+ Clean and stock ED EKG machines as needed
+ Correctly route and complete ED EKG’s as needed per shift
+ Correctly completes Timed EKG’s at the appropriate date and time
+ Troubleshoot EKG management system problems as needed per shift
+ Properly keeps record of EKG Management problems during downtimes – logs trouble calls, etc
+ Maintains accurate patient log records and generates patient charges.
+ Obtain documentation needed to fax EKG’s to appropriate physician and /or physician’s offices
+ Established priorities and assists other employees in order to complete the workload.
+ Maintains diagnostic equipment in clean, operating condition.
+ Provides appropriate physicians with face sheet so they will have the necessary billing information. ( when indicated)
+ Calibrates, trouble shoots and reports need for equipment repairs.
+ Maintains accurate patient log records and generates patient charges.
+ Established priorities and assists other employees in order to complete the workload.
+ Maintains diagnostic equipment in clean, operating condition.
+ Provides appropriate physicians with face sheet so they will have the necessary billing information. ( when indicated)
+ Distribute copies of the patient test results to the appropriate physicians.
+ Monitor test results to ensure timely physician interpretation and turnaround.
+ Identify and flag preoperative test procedures and notify physician responsible for the interpretation of the test data.
+ Performs other related functions as assigned.
+ Serves as a preceptor for training and in servicing new employees as EKG technician
**Job Requirements:**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ 1 year related experience.
+ Vocational or technical education is preferred.
+ EKG certification within a year.
+ BLS-American Heart Association BLS Provider issued card required
