This position will plan, direct, and coordinate Environmental, Health, Transportation, and Safety programs of the organization to proactively avoid and eliminate all related risks and losses by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Under the direction of the VP of EH&S, the EHS Regional Safety Manager is the regional expert and resource in occupational safety and health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage Regional Safety Specialists and Branch Safety Managers to ensure staff growth and company priorities, goals, and metrics are met. Engage the Regional Vice Presidents to ensure proper accountability to Rain For Rent expectations. OSHA Safety and Health Compliance & Training – Inspects work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety and health policies and regulations. Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures, recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability. Develop and present plans for department, regional, and branch continuous improvement based on the needs of each branch. Assists branches with incident reviews and makes recommendations for corrective actions. Identify company safety training needs, develop, and coordinate safety and health training programs. Investigates incidents involving company vehicles, interviews witnesses and drivers to determine possible causes of incidents, and make recommendations to the VP of EHS for changes needed to improve compliance with governmental regulatory agency and company procedures. Analyzes reports obtained from governmental agencies to determine appropriate action. Confirms and performs risk assessments concerning such problems as accident statistics, employee exposure, equipment maintenance, and equipment failure reports. Recommends measures to improve safety records and to protect equipment. Monitors Department of Transportation (with the help of the Fleet Safety Manager) compliance including regulatory requirement for driver records and documentation, BIT compliance, and GPS Scorecard improvement. Manages the development, implementation, and maintenance of company policies. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures, and makes recommendations accordingly. Ensures compliance with all environmental health and safety regulations (with the assistance of the Environmental Manager), and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Mentor, coach, and encourage employees, supervisor, and managers on safety culture, employee safety performance improvements, safety committees and supervisor and peer interactions. Manage projects assigned meeting expectations and timelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise/manage/direct the selection, training, development, appraisal, and work assignments of personnel. General Direction: receive very general guidance with respect to overall objectives; work is usually quite independent of others; operate within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving assigned objectives.
