EHS Specialist/ Consultant
Mentor Technical Group
Ensure that the requirements of the programs and EHS regulation standards are met, but not limited to:
o Hazard Communication- Verify compliance with HMIS and Globally Harmonized System (GHS) labeling of chemicals used in the department. Subcontractors SDS compliance.
o Refrigerants- Responsible for the program: Log, SOP Forms, licenses, subcontractor documentation
o Waste Management- ensure compliance, labeling, guide employees in properly dispose of trash
o Electrical Safety- licenses, certifications, NFPA 70E Req., PPE Compliance o Lock-out/ Tag-out- Annual audit, availability of devices
o Powered Industrial Vehicle- licenses, training, medical surveillance, PM Compliance Contractors Program- documentation requirements, meetings, evaluations, SOP forms, Reports headcount monthly
o Tank System- Inventory, integrity test, inspections
o Emergency Preparedness- Hurricane Season, ERT
o Confined Space - labeling, work permits, JSA, training, PPE
o Machine Guarding- inspection, labeling, training
o Fall Prevention- Assessment, training, certifications, PPE
o Fleet - Insurance, Drivers SS, maintenance, authorize personnel o Warehouse and Storage Areas- pedestrian safety, racks inspections and certifications o Ergonomics- Promote ergonomic exercises for department staff
o Fire and Explosion- Fuel and flammable storage · Verify office areas are kept clean and orderly · Audit the contractor machinery, tools and equipment for compliance to Safety and Environmental requirements, following cGMPs
·Discuss any EHS related topics to our employees
· Planning and execution of shutdown, routine and no routine maintenance
. Permit logistic, safety talk, LOTO plan and LOTO coordinator
· Perform authorize employee annual LOTO audit
· Prepare and evaluate Job Safety Analysis
· Prepare purchase order requisitions
· Perform safety and environmental inspection
· Approve documentation required by contractor’s program.
· Delivers Safety Data Sheets information for the industrial hygiene program
· Maintain and provide personal protection equipment, tools, safety equipment’s for employees.
· Provide support to Engineering Department during ISO 14001 and client, EHS corporate, audits, Hurricane Season Preparedness, Shutdown activities, other important audits
· Providing EHS training for Mentor employees
· Update annually Chemical .
· Understand individual country regulations and keeps current with changes.
· Complete documentation for product registration ensuring country law and regulatory compliance.
· Communicate to management potential regulatory changes that can impact the business.
· Provide regulatory guidance to marketing, purchasing and other functions.
· Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers, Customs brokers, vendors and government agency representatives.
· Business Continuity Plan
· Develop and maintain associated documentation for audits and inspections.
· Support audit and inspections
Position Qualifications
Detailed knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, Regulatory compliance, and preferably working within Utilities/Facilities and manufacturing areas. OSHA 30d, Trainer, Audit readiness and Lead. Experience working in the unregulated pharmaceutical field and EHS program management.
